Dear Distinguished Participants at ICSM2008,                                            13rd August, 2008

The time of our conference is approaching fast and we know that you are making your travel plans to Antalya.

We are writing to inform you about oral presentation at ICSM2008. Oral presentation must be prepared by using POWERPOINT programme. The presentation files will first need to be virus checked by our computer specialist at least one day before the presentation of the talk.

***Note that session chairs will be very firm with regards to the timing of the talk. It may therefore be useful if you would practice your talk before coming to the conference and inform the session chair well before your presentation.

***Note that due to some reasons and flow of programme it is not possible for delegates to use their own computers for their presentation. Please do not insist on using your personal computer for your presentation. Poster dimension space is 90cm width and 120 cm height.

For the first time visitors to Turkey, please feel confident about your travel to Antalya. There are 2 terminals at Antalya Airport. We will have a desk at each terminal with our personal on duty to welcome you at the airport. We will have a regular shuttle bus service to conference venue.

Schedule of buses will be arranged and we will inform you soon. Please visit our website for updates. If your arrival is beyond normal hours we still can pick you up from the airport with small cost. You do not normally need Turkish Lira for your spending, you can directly use Euros or US Dollars but not coins.  We can arrange to make money exchange at the hotel.

We are happy to announce the classification of the submitted abstracts, after long debates and hard works carried by Scientific Programme Committee (SPC), and I am very grateful especially to the following members of SPC in name:

The committee has double checked about 330 abstracts and 319 abstracts are accepted as oral or poster contributions. We are sorry to reject 11 abstracts due to the lack of scientific content mismatching the level of average abstracts. These abstracts will not be announced on the web as the authors have been informed. Of course, the presenting authors of these abstracts are very welcome to attend the conference as listeners. The authors needing an invitation letter shall get in touch with Dr. M. Note that we will have a special oral session for some selected posters. You may visit our web-site to see the classification of abstracts. If you think there is an error with your abstract, please inform us ASAP.

The authors of the accepted presentations in the oral form are urged to confirm their participation in the Conference by 30 May 2008. As organizers we know very well that there exists very high desire for attendance to conference but we would also like to make the following notice: Please, remember that late withdrawals of oral contributions make serious inconveniences both to the participants and to organizers of the Conference.

Late abstract submissions are still open, but they will be considered as poster if accepted by the programme committee. We are also thankful to finance and bursary committees for creating some room for potential scientists to make their attendance possible. There also many others we should also thank for their generous contributions to the success of the preparation meeting and workshop and panel. Only bursary holders are supposed to register without paying or paying at discount rate by 23 May 2008. Early registration deadline is extended to 23 May 2008. Please note that accompanying participants (children under 12 are free) are supposed to pay unless there is a special agreement with organizers.

Preparations are underway and going as planned with no problem whatsoever, so please be prepared to be part of a unique conference to be held in Side, where we will be waiting to welcome you.
